Jobs at Community Colleges

Rob Jenkins, at Georgia Perimeter, offers good advice for folks who want to teach at community colleges.  In the Chronicle of Higher Education Vitae section, he addresses questions that job-seekers have about the job search cycle and other aspects of the job.  Write him with questions, and scroll back through this site to see what we’ve posted about what you need to know about teaching at teaching-intensive institutions, including community colleges, regional public colleges and universities, and non-research-oriented private colleges.

Be sure to read his column, as well as Matt Reed’s Confessions of a Community College Dean, in Inside Higher Ed.com, to keep up with the community college sector and its issues.  The more you know, the better candidate you’ll be.
